This full 360-degree panoramic photograh shows the scene of one the most disturbing sites of combat in the United States history, The Sunken Road at the Antietam Battlefield. Also known as Bloody Lane, it was here that casualties of the Army of the Potomac numbered almost 3,000 men following more than three hours of repeated attempts to dislodge the Confederates from the road. The dead and wounded of the Army of Northern Virginia were not tallied though it was said you could walk the length of the road on the gray corpses without touching ground. As with many of the Civil War fields, today's idyllic vista belies a grim history, often forgotten and too often repeated. Depicted in stunning sepia tone, the photograph is matted and framed in a beautiful brushed bronze with a walnut hue. 11"H x 41" W
