For one who loves really good wine, this is a little bit of Heaven from right here in Virginia, 15 miles west of Charlottesville. The Petit Verdot won The Chairman's Award with unanimous golds at the Riverside International. This powerful wine is opaque in color, has aromas of berry and plum and a rich jammy flavor with hints of earthiness which combine to create a long lingering finish. The Durant White (60% Chardonnay; 30% Viognier; 10% Pinot Gris) is crisp and elegant with the flavors of lime, green apple, quince and passion fruit. It is approachable for both new and experienced wine lovers. The Cabernet Franc has a rich garnet hue with fragrances of pomegranate, cherry jam and fresh cracked pepper. On the palate it gives soft impressions of ripe blackberry and cassis, and dark cocoa flavors are prominent with a concentrated and velvety texture.
